Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic polymer most commonly used for plastic moldings. Polypropylene (also know as polypropene) is injected into a mold while molten, forming complex shapes – making it an ideal material for high volume, low cost wheel fabrication. Wheels and wheel centres made of polypropylene are fracture resistant, vibration and noise dampening, high load capacity and low cost when compared to similar materials.
Polypropylene wheels are resistant to various greases and oils and suitable for applications with a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Polypropylene wheels are typically less expensive than nylon wheels and only have marginally less superior characteristics. This range of medium duty twin Polypropylene Castor come complete with a bracket of pressed steel up to 2mm thick with double ball bearing and a zinc plated finish. The two wheels have a quality white polypropylene tread which is non-marking with low rolling resistance. Good load capacity and resistant to many oils and greases.
