TEP Technica Ltd stock thousands of pallet rollers in many different sizes. Pallet rollers are typically used as front load wheels on the forks of pallet trucks. Hand pallet trucks, stacker trucks and powered pallet trucks including ride on trucks will use a combination of two or four pallet rollers on the front two forks. Pallet rollers are often travelling over uneven surfaces and must be of high quality to sustain the regular impact damage common in these applications.
Our pallet rollers are either Vulkollan, polyurethane or nylon directly bonded to steel or nylon centres with ball bearings, bushes and shields to suit the application requirements. Our range of pallet rollers are manufactured to a very high standard and can handle load capacities up to 1000kgs each. Pallet rollers are a versatile load wheel and we use these rollers for a multitude of applications including supporting drum units, overhead conveyor systems and specific engineering requirements or prototypes.

Examples of pallet rollers / load rollers
Pallet rollers, sometimes referred to as load rollers are commonly found on the front forks of hand pallet trucks and powered pallet forklift trucks however these load rollers also make excellent wheels for a wide variety of engineering applications. Load capacities range from just 50kgs up to 2000kgs so for the price and size they are a very cost efficient product. We have hundreds of different types and sizes of load roller in stock so please do check our industrial wheel section where you can view sizes, prices, availability and order online. We offer next day delivery to anywhere in the UK mainland if ordered before 4.30pm on a standard working day. Because we stock such a large number of pallet rollers/load rollers we have listed below some of the more unusual types you will find on our shelves. Manufactured in Germany, this roller has a heavy-duty design with a high-quality thermoplastic polyamide. The roller comes with ZZV ball bearings. The high load capacity tread is non-marking with excellent mechanical properties and resilient to wear, tear and common oils and greases.
The Vulkollan© tread has excellent mechanical properties including high speed, high load capacity, abrasion resistance and low compression. The tread is also non-marking and resistant to many oils and greases. Also available in other compounds.
This high-grade industrial roller from Germany has a specially formulated extra soft 65 Shore A polyurethane tread for increased rolling resistance, maximum sound dampening and cushioning effect to help prevent damage to floors. The tread is no-marking with good tear, wear and impact resistance. Suitable for a wide range of applications, the hub centre is made of steel and the tread is resistant to oils and greases.
Manufactured in Germany to exacting standards, this roller has a superior Vulkollan© (93 Shore A) tread directly bonded to a steel centre with our without ball bearings, shields or bushing. Suitable for high load, high speed applications, the Vulkollan© tread is non-marking, impact and wear resistant.
This high-grade industrial roller from Germany has a specially formulated very soft 78 Shore A polyurethane tread for increased rolling resistance, improved sound dampening and cushioning effect to reduce the risk of damage to floors. The tread has good load capacity, is no-marking with good tear, wear and impact resistance. Suitable for a wide range of applications, the hub centre is made of steel and the tread is resistant to oils and greases.
Criteria for pallet roller selection:
If the environment where the forklift or pallet truck is sensitive to noise you will need to consider whether a softer tread is more suitable. Pallet rollers with a hard tread (e.g. Nylon Pallet Rollers Series 130/PA) on a hard floor will create more noise than a softer tread like rubber or our Polyurethane pallet rollers Series 173PD which are designed to minimise noise and vibration.
Different treads are suitable for different environments. If the environment is humid or the pallet rollers will come into contact with aggressive chemicals rollers with metal centres should be avoided. A pallet roller from Series 130HD would is suitable as it is designed for high chemical resistance and sensitive floor protection.
Select a load wheel using the appropriate load capacity for your application will help extend the life of your wheels and prevent compression damage. The load rating of a wheel must never be exceeded.
Continuous use can generate heat where the wheel rotates and compresses and expands whilst rolling. The constant expansion and contraction when the pallet roller comes into contact with the floor can build heat which will result in cracks in the roller compound and bond with the wheel hub. Higher durometer compounds in pallet rollers are suited to continuous use as there is less expansion and contraction reducing heat levels. Series 173 is suitable for high speed and high load applications, whilst Series 178V is a heavy-duty pallet roller also suitable for high speed usage.
Wheels with a large diameter spin more slowly than smaller wheels so the compression cycle is reduced lengthening the life span on the wheel
Don't know which pallet roller you need?
Our technical advisors are on hand to offer advice on product identification to select the correct wheel for your application. At our UK warehouse we hold large stocks of pallet wheels for most forklift manufacturers that can be dispatched on a next day delivery service.
